Your success is our priority

With over 15 years of experience, our team offers unparalleled knowledge and skills in college admissions advice and guidance. Our advisory board, comprised of alumni from top-tier and Ivy League schools, further strengthens our advice and knowledge and the ability to craft an authentic application that truly stands out to admissions officers. This is what we call 'unique positioning'.

Addressing your concerns

Many students worry as to whether they will meet the necessary requirements for their dream schools. We certainly understand these concerns - that's why we are here to help.

By starting with Lion Education & College Prep as early as Year 7, we create a comprehensive College Application Master Plan to ensure you obtain the best possible credentials in time for your college application. For example, starting a foreign language in Year 7 counts towards your application credits. Additionally, some subjects will not be recognised or accepted by many top colleges. For example, UCLA and other selective schools do not accept P.E.

Our secret to success

Our secret sauce lies in expertly bundling all aspects of a student’s profile: academics, special talents (sports, music, arts, dance), leadership, extracurricular activities, standardised tests, admissions tests, volunteering, non-profit, passion projects, college choices (longlist and shortlist), personal essays, mock interviews, and references.

Most importantly, we advise and guide you on the college application submission timeline for each university. This increases the student's chances of receiving offers and acceptances.

This coherent and authentic presentation ensures that you truly stand out to admissions officers within the first few minutes of reading your application.

US College Application timelines & rules

A significant factor in the outcome of a student's college application is the timeline of submission. This is dependent on the college offerings and rules:

  • Early Decision (ED):   If accepted, it is binding, and you must withdraw all other applications and attend. Some colleges that offer ED are Rice, Duke, and Vanderbilt.
  • Early Action (EA):   If accepted, it is non-bindingYou can apply to multiple schools and decide by the May 1 deadline. These include MIT, the University of Chicago, and Georgetown.
  • Restricted/Single-Choice Early Action (REA/SCEA):   Non-binding, but restricts you from applying to other private early programs. These include most of the selective colleges such as Harvard, Yale, and Stanford.
  • Deferred:   The student's application will be reconsidered with regular decision applicants
  • Waitlisted: the student is considered academically qualified for admission, but due to limited space, was not accepted immediately. The possibility of being accepted depends on the number of students declining their acceptance.

The advantages of applying early are higher admission rates than regular decision. However, the student must have their entire application/s ready to submit early. The disadvantages are that binding early decision limits financial aid comparisons with other schools that have accepted the student.

This is where we can really help you using our knowledge, expertise and contacts. We'd love to be part of your success story!
